ok got the battery back from the garage today, they charged it for two days, checked it after charge and under load and found no issues. i got it home put her on the bike, had lights etc as before tried to start her no joy.

added a bit of extra juice from my blade via jump leads and she fired, had no tank on so only ran on the fuel in the carbs / fuel line but was very rough idle ( i am expecting this as she has not run for four years as mentioned earlier )

she stalled after 2 / 3 mins running, went to try again with more fuel and all i got was a buzzing from the starter solenoid. not a click but i high pitched buzzing for as long as i pressed the starter.

now along with the battery i have had back, i have four new plugs and replaced the rectifier. so if it is not the starter solenoid i am out of ideas. the loom has been replaced with a known working one as mentioned, alogn with new plugs, rectifier and the battery has been checked so does anyone have any extra thoughts?

just been searching google and someone thad the same problem an r6, it turned out to be crap on the starter switch on the bars causing a bad connection stopping the fully voltage getting through so i will check that out as well tomorrow night after work and let everyone know if this seems to sort the problem but if anyone has any extra thoughts in the mean time please let me know.

Carbs need cleaning?

Hell knows what gunk is in there after 4 years sitting.
