Water Pump Weaping

Found a very slight coolant leak from the little hole under the water pump, I understand that you can't purchase any internal seals.
Anyone sucessfully repaired a pump before ? I can see it being an expensive component to replace.

Quite a common fault from what i gather... mine had a slight leak and i used some silicone sealant, doesnt leak anymore

Please tell me you didn't just fill the drain hole? The reason it's there is so coolant isn't forced past the o-ring and into the engine.....A new pump is the only way to repair it I'm afraid.

Are you really trying to say you filled the water pump drain hole to stop it leaking? Please see Haynes manual, page 3.6, paragraph 8.2 and 8.3 - you need a new pump and possibly new oil and filter!

Sorry, my bad... didnt see it was the drain hole, i meant i siliconed the housing that is supposed to be sealed with a big o-ring and started weeping! Drain plug is still as honda intended

There cheap and dead easy to replace!

I picked up a second hand one off ebay for £18.00 delivered that was MINT, looked brand new :)

Only 3 or 4 bolts and off it comes (drain the oil first else that'll come out too.)

I'm 95% sure it's the same pump on the NC21/24 as on the 30 too

You don't need to drain the oil, simply prop the bike up with an axle stand or similar so its leaning to the opposite side to when its on its sidestand (if that makes sense).
