Very Odd Smell From The RVF
Just recently have noticed an odd smell when i park up the bike. Almost smells like relish which i find very odd, slight sulphur smell as well. I have checked the output at 5000rpm and it's 14.18 volts and 1.65 amps at the main fuse. Alternator resistance checked out fine. Could not get any readings from the rectifier and i have checked another one and still no reading. The one on the bike is an electrex and looks to be fine, connector is not burnt. The battery is new and has only done about 250 miles since fitting. Can anyone help.

Sulhpur smells are pretty much your battery..
I would be looking at it very closely as a boiling or otherwise unhealthy battery under your tackle is not good..
Does the battery voltage rise with revs over 5k? If your reg/rec is screwed you may be overcharging the battery which will kill it. run with your lights on at low revs til you sort it!!
