nc30 flywheels

Are there 2 types of flywheels for the NC30? 1 heavy and 1 light or would it have been fitted with a lighter version. All the flywheels I have seem to be the same.

there are two different looking flywheels(rotor),when i purchased a alternator from ebay it was supplied with the flywheel and when i replaced the alternator the flywheel already on the bike looked different.....more holes etc.

i can't remember if there was a noticeable difference in weight......

Yep - two different looking types mate. NO idea if they weigh differently but I had to replace an alternator adn used the spare off an engine I had lying about. It fits and works all good.

I will have both out to look at soon as I fit my gixxer genny...

Older generation NC-30s had a much heavier flywheel. The charging system got a face lift in 1991 or 1992 to a lighter Flywheel, Stator and Regulator/Rectifier. Then, the NC-35 had an eve lighter unit.

I'm resurrecting this thread :)
Can you tell me how to tell apart the two flywheel types by looking at them?
