Re: Brake calipers
You get that on some brake pad/disc combos, a kind of 'fizz' noise as you use them. Certainly nothing to worry about by itself[1].Spike16 wrote:err the ones that came in them :) but il get some nissin oem ones when they need changing
one thing i have noticed but dont know if its right or not, when going slowly and applying the brakes you can almost hear them engaging, and smooth scraping type sound (although it may just be me)

[1] My SV650 for example did it from new. I quite like the noise mysqlf.

Re: Brake calipers
good good, i went out today for a propper blat and they are amazing. i found myself accelerating towards a junction just so i could get hard on the anchors down the gears, there amazing! i really wana try them out on track tho so i can see how they will fair against some bigger modern bikes (never really get to properly outbrake people on the roads)
o and the fizzing sounds seems to have gone which is good, think it was just the pads bedding in to the discs as you said druid
now i am curious how good they would have been coupled with smev's disc's, shame there not avalible still

Re: Brake calipers
Normally I find myself still hard on the gas wondering why the person ahead has started braking, then pass them still on full throttle before finally hitting the brakes...Spike16 wrote:good good, i went out today for a propper blat and they are amazing. i found myself accelerating towards a junction just so i could get hard on the anchors down the gears, there amazing! i really wana try them out on track tho so i can see how they will fair against some bigger modern bikes (never really get to properly outbrake people on the roads)
...then speeding up again as I've slowed down too much and remembering just how good the brakes are on the NC35. :D
That's with the standard brakes too, the CBR6RR ones are even better!

Re: Brake calipers
yeh i found my self getting hard on the brake, only to realise i was going into corner far too slow and powering up again only to corner mid throttle, i really need to get out on track so i can really guage how late i can brake into a corner and how much corner speed i can safly carry, on the roads i dont try and push corner speed as i dont know fully what the bike will do

Re: Brake calipers
that would be fun, i got the resevoir bolt drilled out today so il take the lines off and route them properly and then replace the fluid and then see how powerful they are, but tbh i think brakes designed to stop a 1000cc bike 13 years younger than my lil 400 will be sufficient.

Re: Brake calipers
so I found a bloke up North with 3x SP1's, he races 2 and has one for road use. I got a set of calipers off him for a deal...£40 and he recons they are in real good nick.
