Headlight Bulbs , Couple of other Q's

Post by moblies »

Evening all,

Just wondering I dont see the original type headlight bulbs for the NC30 (35/60w) readily available apart from DS Spares are they difficult to obtain ? I take it all the other bulbs are same as UK spec, Rear lights , indicators etc

I will no doubt do the mod but have a long enough list of jobs todo as it is.

Also I find the Clutch on the NC30 fairly heavy to pull in, is this normal? My old Triumph 955i was a breeze compared to this. I'll have a left hand like Arnie!

Probably do for now.

Thanks

no the clutches are like silk, get a new cable and it should be fine ,bulbs are easy got as well and they are not as expensive or as bad as people make them out to be so you can put that main beam relay mod right at the bottom of the to do list, both bulbs and cable are available from a forum member called Rick Oliver (user name RickOliver funny enough) email him and he'll sort you out but he's normally quite busy so replies may not be insant lol

Thanks for that, I'll add a clutch cable to the list. It has done 47000km, Not sure what the life of a clutch is for one of these?

how long is a piece of string ,they could be 47000kms of being thrashed with stand up rolling burn outs or they could be the easiest 47000kms ever,i'd go for the cable first or maybe try greasing the lever and housing at the bar or the mechanisum at the other end, if you pop the sprocket cover off you'll see the "pin" that moves back and forward when you pull the clutch in,i have heard of them drying up and becoming stiff so maybe you could try some grease in there first before you visit rick with an order ?
