I'm doing up my NC29.....after four years of owning it

Post by Bowches » Mon Dec 17, 2018 11:27 am

Hi all.....

I'm getting my forks sprayed, my rear wheel powder coated, new wavy discs, got a TYGA front fender that will be put on in blue hopefully.

I will change the rear shock to the one Graeme france is selling as well and I will sort out the front as well (TOO SOFT).

I probably need new fairings as well......its currenly on the ABBA stand. I'm on facebook where its easy to post pictures. I wish the 400 grey bike website would make it easier to post pictures....

Looks like a bike from the future, no wheels needed
Everyone has to save up for parts, and it's always better to do everything all at once rather than pull it all down again when you add something else.
Have you checked/ regreased/ renewed the steering head bearings? Just a thought whilst you got it stripped down to that level

I agree stripped to that level bearings would be something to check. Can make a massive difference.. after regreasing dont retighten them too far.. just nip them up.. see haynes for more info..

Get some front springs off Graeme, the best thing i done was sort my suspension.. well worth it.

If your buying the rear shock from gf racing then ask him which springs and what air gap he would recommend for your weight (Inc riding gear) and riding style, if it's for road only, track days etc

Sorry joined facebook recently and have not been on 400 greybike for a while.

Here's a pic of my rear wheel, forks and top yoke painted.

Welcome back. Did you get a rear shock from Graeme France? If you did was it new or a reconditioned unit? He's got my NC29 at the moment. The shock is knackered. I'll probably ask him to fit a reconditioned shock, so was wondering what you thought about yours.
He fitted a Nitron to my NC35 which has made a huge difference (along with the new BT090's  ) but that's a more expensive option.

I got a cbr600 shock from Graeme set up for me along with late rr type forks. I would say I shat myself when I took it out after fitting both the above at the same time. It made a hell of a difference turned in with sod all effort, held the line, easy to change direction. Worth the money.
