vf400f d.o.b.a.r. project
Me and Colinf are the only two mad persons newly working on the mother of all the 400 v4 bikes.
Hrc project pulls my project too, so the work is in progress. The bike is under my friend Franco's ability of resurrecting motorcycles (my old semi-destroyed rc30 where fully rebuilt as a new bike). Yesterday night we have finally found how to fit a 1983 rs250r rear shock (found NEW here in italy with 3 different ratio springs and height adjuster!) in the perfect way with the minimum effort, saving on weight. I also had the vf400f yokes' spindle fit in the nc35 bottom yoke. The magtek rear wheel is arriving from Japan, Though I'm not sure if i will fit, the white 18 inches has its charme.
Here some shots of first fitting measurings.

This is interesting, ive never seen anyone do a build like this before. Did you have to do any modification for the nc35 front end and nc30 swimgarm to fit?

Front forks just need to swap the vf400f yokes spindle to the nc35 bottom yoke, making it slipping 2 mm towards the top (I'll add some shots asap). The nc30 rear end need to cut off the center stand and dogbones supports at the frame side, repositioning them slightly on the left side. In addition we have built a new upper support to make the shock move without hitting the arm itself. Everything else is a direct swap. After sand blasting and repainting I0ll take many photos to let interrested people how to. Frame mods involve rearset holders, instrument and battery support, tank flares to allow enough steering due to handelbars hitting.

Arm to the frame pins also need to be machined. I have the technical drawings if someone's interested in. Now we are testing some fluid dynamics for the exhaust and the new cams.
