Nc35 midrange rev problem

Post by Skippyv4 »

Gday all, long time follower first time poster. Ive got myself an rvf400 (96) and ive had a recent problem. The symptom is wont rev past 5k-6k rpm (or i havent pushed it) and it sounds like two cylinders cut out same rpm every gear. I want to do my valve clearancesand ultrasonic clean the carby's. I live on the Gold Coast, Australia, anyone nearby could point me in the righht direction for a haynes manual. In my mind im thinking main jets, or i heard something along the lines of speedo restricted, (limp home mode).
Bike has tyga fairings and 37xxx kms.
Any thoughts or comments will really be appreciated, just want to be sure before i take her apart myself.
Cheers. :peace:

Sounds like speed limiter has been disconnected or failed. Does it have the OEM speedo.

On an OEM speedo there is a wiring loom leaving the back of the speedo leading to a three pin connector on the main loom. If this connector is intact then their is a fault in the speed sensor circuit or the indicator/brake light fuse could be blown.
