Chris, how did you fasten the primary gear back together.
Is it cold riveted?
and can you get this process done?

Re: 442cc kit changes
I will make some pins that replace the rivets with a nice tight fit, then press the whole lot together and tig the pins to the gear from behind.
I can make some extra pins if you want a basket doing.
Where can I get he basket springs from?

What's the crack with getting hold of the 442 kit these days apart from TTS, which is gonna end up being a £700 job. Does Jay/stripes still get involved with it?

Re: 442cc kit changes
Hey, if you're looking for a 442 kit I've got a set of FZR600 pistons, rings and 76 bored out ready if you're interested. They were originally Stripes' and he's the best guy to ask for any details on them but I don't believe they've been run. I don't know if it'll swap straight into a 73 or not. I tried fitting into my 76 and although it would turn over (by hand) the piston ridge just contacted the head.

Re: 442cc kit changes
Dan, the pistons you have are the second set I had. These had been assembled but never run in an engine with the barrels you have. The other set I had I built into a bored and stroked engine. It appeared that these pistons on a 76a required more work than with the bandit or 73a as from other people's experiences with those engines they never had clearance issues with piston deck heights. Hope that helps.djheard91 wrote:Hey, if you're looking for a 442 kit I've got a set of FZR600 pistons, rings and 76 bored out ready if you're interested.
