Re: Neutral warning switch / light
Hi again all!
Just an update, my gear indicator project went well
i modified the switch on the gearbox to give me the output i needed, (basically to just ground one of 7 wires depending on which gear i'm in)
and passed it into this circuit:
http://www.binary-pulse.co.uk/Random/Bi ... tchnew.gif" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
i now have a display on my dash that shows me 1 0 2 3 4 5 6 depending on which gear i'm in...

the finished circuit.
this is a very early prototype and i can potentially make it MUCH smaller as well as add the original functionality of the gearbox switch (or modified functionality to derestrict the bike in the top gears) that way you get the best of both worlds, the added gear indicator, and a derestricted top end!.
Thanks for all your help.

Re: Neutral warning switch / light
Yeah, i'll look into costs and stuff, the hardest thing is the switch, but with how customisable the unit would be it wouldnt be too difficult to mass produce while still making it work for a wide range of suzuki carb'd / mecahnical speedo bikes (not just the gixxer, but the bandits too) providing they have a switch to show which gear the bike is in.
The hardest part was modifying the switch (once i'd designed the actual circuit)
