Outer headlight film peeling off
Hey guys,
New bike has the outer finish of a headlight stripping off in part. am I right in thinking this is a vinyl layer of sorts in place to protect the inner plastics from weathering? If so, is it a simple case of peeling it all off, prepping the surface and re-wrapping with suitible vinyl? Some 3M clear should do the trick.
Cheers.

I've ordered some 3M clear vinyl. Looking like I'll wet and dry sand the headlights back to a mirror finish then apply it for longevity.

No idea. It is dried on hard enough for me to think it's been there a damn long time but other than that I wouldn't have a clue. I thought it was a standard thing to avoid yellowing headlights.

Mine is doing the same thing, flaking off in one corner. It hasn't worried me too much to this point.
Are you in Australia, Anti?
Ben.

Yeah, Sydney. It's not too big of a deal but very noticeable when the headlights are on, so I'd like to sort it out. Cheap fix too.

Of course, sun and/or rock chips.
