Exup valve

Post by redbandit12 »

Stripped the valve as its rattling its nuts off at tickover (putting a bit of pressure on the pulley stops it).
Bushes have worn into an oval shape.
A mate of mine will make me a new set up, but the 'dust seal' has fell to bits trying to get it out.
Is there an alternative I can use or have made as the price is ridiculous if available.
Also, is it worth buying the little spring as used on the 1000

It is the graphite bush itself that will have fallen to pieces.
The so called dust seal is actually a steel spacer/washer.

I fit a light duty compression spring cut to length to stop lateral play if it is excessive.
A red box doth not a Snap On make.

Its p/n 2Tk-14845-00 that sits above the graphite bush in the housing

Exactly the same as the 400 parts manual. Made from aluminium

Just asked Yamaha for availibility but its discontinued.
Any ideas on an alternative or is it really neccessary??
Can have a longer carbon bush made if that will do

I just pressed a bit of brass pipe into the worn out bush...Think it was 10mm I.D.
