Bicycle / pedal bike speedo

Post by Tim400GB »

Anyone here use a bicycle pedal bike speedo on their nc30?

It's for my daytime mot track bike.
I've got a sigma one (with a wire to the pick up) but trying to find a suitable place for the magnet and pick up is proving to be a nightmare

There's just so little space!

I'm sure I've seen ones before where people have but the magnet in where the brake disc bobbins are but obviously depends on the size of the magnet

Calibrate it with a sat-nav!! I measured my tyre diameter to the the 'thou' when I installed mine . . . ended up reading nearly 20 mph over at true(sat-nav) 70mph . . .

Magnet and pick-up doesn't have to go on the front wheel of course.
I put my magnet on a small tab held under one of the Sprocket nuts, and mounted the pick-up on a small bracket fixed to the Chain-Guard mounting bolt.
That way, you can hide the wire easily (I fixed mine to the Brake line), and you don't have to allow for Fork travel.
