NC30 Rear ride height setting

I see so nitron supply shocks to suit both 17 and 18 inch wheels, thats actually a better option than using the RVF link to compensate for the drop in ride height from fitting a 17 inch rear as the shorter RVF link increases the already high rising rate of the shock.

So what would be the difference in ride height required between 18" and 17"?

Have searched but haven't found a solid answer.

I believe going from 310 to 330 actually lifts the rear by 75mm. Sadly I didn't take any measurements before I put the new shock in.

I found this post which suggests 75mm increase is rather dangerous viewtopic.php?f=24&t=24720#p174976

I have only done maybe 50km on the new shock and haven't noticed anything to suggest I am in imminent danger of ending up in a ditch.

I am planning on switching to a 17" rear wheel. Maybe 330mm would still be too long.

I would of thought there would be about 1/2 inch between 17 an 18 tyres, but things are never that simple so would prob depend tyre make, size and profile than anything else.

finally got round to checking mine today. Height to underside of seat with bike sitting on ground was 860mm - 33.8"

Which compares pretty well with Ian's at 33.0" - I'll leave it as it is for now and see how it handles on track next week

Reading this with interest how did it perform on the track, also this a road bike ? how is it on the road

bike is track only - not registered for road use

Handled the brands hatch indy really well - just backed of fork preload a bit

I have just fitted a lovely nitron sport shock and uprated springs all supplied from RO and the bike is silky smooth - for road use i might add - I just need to improve to macth the bikes abilitys.
