NC23 cutting out

Post by crusty »

Hi guys, any help would be awesome.

My NC23 has been running like a dream, but recently has started cutting out while riding. This morning I almost got to work and the revs died, then she cut out and would not restart. Did not turn over or anything. This afternoon I tried to start her again, and she was tried to turn over, but seems to have no battery power. Bump started fine, and has been ok getting home since.

But this has happened several times. I have checked the battery and that seems to be ok (12 volts)
My trip to work is only 3 miles, and I always run with the lights on for safety. Could this be a problem?

Any ideas would be great!

Is the ignition ok? My 23 needed a new ignition as she was cutting out. The key used to turn slightly and she'd die!

3 miles is not a lot even with a good rectifier, maybe hook it up to an optimate overnight to help with charging. I. Do this even if using the bike on longer rides as I cant afford not to have the bike not start on a morning 30 miles from home or work.
