NC30 not starting
Hi guys,
I received my bike 2 days ago. When I went to look at it, we battled to start it. Eventually after a running start (in second and keeping the throttle all the way open) I would pull in the clutch lever and the bike would start picking up revs very slowly.
It had been standing garaged up for a many months.
Where do it start to look for faults, I'm guessing she'll need a good carb cleaning. Am I on the right track?
Any help would be greatly appreaciated. My knowledge on the mechanics of these bikes is limited but I'm more than prepared to get stuck in and get my hands dirty.
Thanx Nick

Yes, i would give the carbs a very good clean ideally take them apart and clean inside very well. Then check the battery is good.
Check the fuses too make sure they all check out ok.

Thanx, the battery has A LOT of life, deffo no problems there. What we did find was while attempting to get the bike started, there was a strong fuel smell which obviously suggests flooding and when the bike eventually took it was running unevenly-as if on 2-3 cylinders. So I'll check plugs aswell. What would the correct voltage and procedure be to check if the rectifier is working properly?
