only takes away the 180kph restiction ian and lets you run a race bike with out a speedo
It's not having what you want but wanting what you've got....Loud ,Proud and Modified ....

it does not affect the rev range at all.....
i have heard that if it has been tampered with then it is possible for it to run like a bag of shit constantly....usually around the 5000rpm mark because it is running on 2 cylinders.
when the speedo reaches 180kph it triggers the speed restrictor which cuts the spark to the two rear cylinders making it impossible to go any faster
sadly, mine is still restricted but where i live you do not need the top end.i rarely ever reach the limit especially running a 14t front sprocket.

I chose to keep mine restricted to 180 kays, no more speed is needed for fun on these bikes. Unfortunately it didn't help when I got booked on it for 162km/h...

If you take the speedo unit off it cuts spark to 2 cylinders after 5000 rpm, this was probably done by honda to stop people from simply taking their clocks off to bypass the Jap 180km/h maximum in the home country.

You can always just derestrict the top speed limiter by unscrewing the speedo cable.
