Why not jet them to suit the system while they're off?

why not try it with the 115/118 and see how it feels,i tried 115/118's in my road bike with a stacked system and it felt a little weak up top but when i put 120's in it firing fires and i think it's rich now, before you spend any money on jets just get it running right with what you have then dyno it for the final set up

It ran pretty well before I started messing around with it. It had a std cut system with end can fitted, and no mods to the carbs at all.

If I put it back to that - then get it dyno'd - the dyno people should know what to suggest anyway.

Well I got it back to standard, started it up, it felt quite responsive with the slides that I had drilled out.
(other than the slides it was std)

I noticed that the exhaust was blowing a bit at the join behind the right footpegs so tried to tighten the bolts down which hold the rear pipes to the rear manifold.......

then SNAP.

not one stud but two of the little buggers broke :(

I've just received a replacement manifold from geoff33 today so will have to get around to fitting that before any more progress is to be made.

Thanks for the advice though guys. it seemed better and smoother reving it in the garage!!

Cheers smev

A quick up date on this then -

I haven't got the carbs fitted again yet

As the rear manifold studs were snapped I took the opportunity to take the engine out and plan on swapping the swingarm over for one I am polishing up - I am also going to polish the frame - Its my bike and I'll do what I want to it!!! I know its not to everyones taste but then I can't please everyone, all the time, however hard I try!

So thats where I'm up to - the bike is spread nicely all over my garage, in alot of bits getting a good winter clean and a few little extras here and there ;)

Thanks for all the advice though - it should be a flier when its back together 8-)
