RVF + VFR400 colour codes & models from parts books
I listed a thread like this on the Super Four page which seem's to have gone down well, so thought I'd do the same for the VFR400 range, covering the NC21, NC24 AND NC30 models. Hope it may be of use to somebody
That's the lot of them, so when you see a NC21 in yellow silver and black or the likes and it is advertised as " All Original" Then it isn't! These aftermarket colours look great but were never done by Mr Honda
A little like my NC21 pictured that I bought as a fresh Import back in 1994, looked fantastic, loved that bike, where is it now

Re: VFR400 Parts book Identities pages, colour codes & model
The text in the top left hand corner says
車体色は印刷のため実物と多少異なる場合があります。
and means
Due to the printing, its the case that the bike colour is a little unsual.
in the Last scan someone has scrubed out フォトNo 7 and written in Type 8, フォト means Photo. There is no mention of any "type" in any of these scans. In that group of photos it really is No7.
the Seed one says シードシルバーメタリック -shiido shirubaa metarikku Seed Silver Metalic
Anyone got anything to translate ? this is great practice.

RVF Parts book Identities pages, colour codes & model
Following to the thread about VFR400 models (NC21/NC24/NC30) I list here a thread about the model/colour info for the RVF model NC35. The NC35 came in Rr and Rt versions only. Also added info for the "lucky ones" that own one, the RC45 in Rr and Rs versions.
Here are the ancestors started in '85 as "Rvf750" a.k.a. NW1A and NW1B (following of the pre-'84 Rs750)
NW1A in development
NW1A, note the conventional double sided swing
NW1B in race trim at '85 B-hours of Suzuka
NW1B, note the single sided rear swing arm (and the rear wheel design)

The idea of someone "correcting" the Honda Parts Catalogue is a bit strange! Based on what, exactly?jay3 wrote:The text in the top left hand corner says

AFAIK, the "No." designation is the same as "Type", but I'm happy to be proven wrong.

Looks a lot like the NC21 No. 4 pictured above.
