Different radiators
Just a quick question has anybody fitted a different i.e smaller size??
I'm running a stock 400 radiator but I can't mount it on the bottom mounts to the frame due to the boost pipe running in that area.
Is there any other radiators that could fit with the same ports in at top right out bottom left.
I can get pictures of damage and the problems I'm running at the min if it helps

Re: Different radiators
I don't know about smaller rads. Racers usually fit more efficient ones like the ZXR400, it's curved which gives a bigger area.
You might need a custom made one to fit the shape of what you've got. I imagine a turbo will make more heat so it could have an oil cooler too. After that you could look at putting it somewhere else - Benelli have it under the seat, VFR800 and SP1 & 2 are on the side of the engine, the Alto Racing "Rage" in this months PB Mag has 4 mounted in the bellypan

Re: Different radiators
I'm running a 600 motor and have a 600 radiator but I think it's to big for the bike.
Will look at a ZXR rad or mine adjusted to suit.
I may look at fireblades as they have a curved rad, a curved rad will cure the problem of catching on the front wheel and also clearance for boost pipes.

TURN YOUR SPEAKERS UP!!!
http://youtu.be/p-TRV4fphjA <<< click it!
I think that means I'm closer to a road worthy bike :D
Running without a dump valve so massive boost leak but it pulls like a train
Here you go, still work needed before I can fully test it out.
I'll be in Grimsby with it hopefully as my misses is from there bud

Re: Different radiators
Turbo originally off a rover 2.0 diesel. It's a Garrett GT15 unit.
I've been speaking to a guy about running a bigger turbo and sorting some of my pipe work out so it runs better boost
Morespeedvicar, I might be at The Barge before the end of the year on the bike if not I will next year :)

Re: Different radiators
Not been to the bardge for years, but gis a shout if your going and i'll try n get there.
I doubt you'll need a bigger turbo, tho a diesel one isnt ideal as the seals arent supposed to take the heat you get from a petrol engine. maybe worth trying somthing smaller, i have a dihatsu cherade turbo that i got from a scrapy years ago that i play about with, its nice and small and would prob do well on a 600.
Cheers

Re: Different radiators
I've been looking at a few other units and once this one is up and running how I want it to I will be looking to upgrade a lot of things.
As for radiator I was looking at a few at a bike show at the weekend and I just need to measure mine and I'm away really, mounts are not an issue as I will just get them welded onto the rad as I need them.
I will keep this thread up to date on how I get on :)
Also just a question does anybody know of a mudguard that will fit FZR1000 front forks??
