1WG 3EN1 Rear Calliper GGGrrrrrr

Post by fredjee »

Just wondering if there's a smaller looking calliper that will fit onto the standard hanger that doe'snt look so massiveeee :?

Spent some time tonight in the workshop stripping my old standard rear calliper and 1 piston was totally locked in :x to be honest both pistons are rusted to billy '' O '' ...
I've looked on wemoto site at stainless but £££££

Anyone know of a diffrent calliper or got a pair of half decent steel pistons going cheep

i thought they were pretty small! compared to my sv they are! I supppose any could be made to fit but i recon youd have to create a mounting bracket to line it up properly and find a way of bracing it well enough if you couldnt use the original bracket and to be of any use and pass the mot! I dont know if there are any direct replacements though someone else may be able to help you there!

I think it's an FZR400 only thing. A friend fitted a 600 unit and it just touched the disk, the rear brake disk is different. He ground a bit out the caliper.

The actual caliper is or looks very similar to the Brembos used on most italian bikes ... that doesn't say ant of those will fit.

You could get just about any Yam unit and find the pistons will fit into the 400 body but I can't garentee it.

I've been looking at the Cagiva Mito brake set up ! It comes underslung and Brembo ;)

Been told that the mito has a 20mm rear spindle and FZR is 17mm but I could get it sleved down ....

Also the rear disc is 230mm were the FZR is 210mm ....

Anyone know if a mito disc will bolt straight onto a FZR wheel ?

Think I've almost sorted it ;)

Been given a Kwaka KR1 rear hanger and calliper

17mm spindle and 210 rear disc same as 3EN1 :D

Spent a few hours on the lathe turning the hanger down a little in thickness and :D

Just got to have a bit of aluminium welded under the swinger to hold the tourqe arm and I'm onto the next bit .
