they are the dogs at reworking shocks and good on price too, i use Kais for all my race bikes and they can transform a stock shock into an `as good as` ohlins item without the fine adjustment depending on your shock. And they give good support with any problems or advice afterwards...

Phil..
Thanks Phil. I have actually ordered a book that was recommended by someone else about how to setup suspension, I'm going to give it a read so I understand, then I'll give them a ring. I have a few places I want to call now.

Low beam relay mod.
Thanks mate. I took a bulb out the bike to check and it is running H4 55/60 bulbs already. So I can only assume a previous owner already did the mod.

Come to think of it, there are lots of things already done on the bike, I wonder if a previous owner was from here :poke:

just make sure they old owner hasn't just shoved 55/60 bulbs in there with out doing the mod as this will burn out the left hand switch gear.

to be honest i have never had a problem with stock jap bulbs.

+1 for the low beam relay mod.
Worth the time to save worry about burning the switchgear.

Then, either:
Phillips Xtreme (think they have a newer & better version??)
Osram Nightbreaker

Great / essential for the unlit back country roads! ( :scare:  --> )

Anyone recommend dyno places in Kent?

Cheers

As said, check its had the mod done as you can just stick the bulbs in there but it burns out the switch.

Phil..
Well they have knackered a pair of shocks for me. still charged me and got told to fu*k off when I had problems.

Had to pay some one else to do it. I'd avoid try uk suspension in bradford.

I have had the bike for a year and always ride with my lights on, can I assume it has been done, or will it only melt the switch gear if I use full beam?

It'll do it over time anyway if you just leave it in "lo" but makes things worse to use the switch.

Update - Just got off the phone to K-Tech, after looking around online they seem to have a good rep and a good looking website. Considering I paid £30 for the rear RS250 shock, a rebuild, rechrome, respring will come to nearly £200 plus VAT......I might as well have bought the Maxton someone offered me for £300.

So now I don't know what to do. Not going to spend all that money getting the shock tarted up. I could have a go at doing it myself, something I have thought about, but can't find anywhere to buy the spare parts I would need, plus there is the small difficult task of getting it re-gased (assuming I have understood all that I have read about shock rebuilding). I would still need to purchase a spring and have the chrome looked at too.

Starting to think I'll just the shock I have alone :?:

i fail to see where the "saving" is when the rs250 shock is modded to fit,ok it might work out a little cheaper than, say, a new nitron from rick, but at the end of the day it's still an old shock reworked to fit a bike it was never designed for where as the new shock from rick is brand new, will fit with out messing around and 9 times outta 10 comes with the correct spring for your weight....
if your really wanted to do something about your suspension buy new or a fairly new shock designed for the bike from someone trusted from this forum.
but thats just my 2c worth
