Bargain 1WG 4/6 build :)
We bought a load of Genesis/3EN1 spares loosely assembled into a bike a couple of weeks ago- highlights included camcoated aftermarket headers, a 3TJ rear wheel and a full Genesis wiring loom- all for £100
I've robbed the headers for my 3EN2 and the other stuff has been set aside for spares leaving a bare 3EN1 frame. Hmm. A quick scout about on Plumtree netted this beauty for £250-

Yes it's butt ugly but it runs ok and if you look closer you'll see a 3TJ swingarm and rear wheel, a full stainless sprung system and a newish pair of Maxxis tyres in 120 and 160- woo!
We haven't got any big plans, just to use what we've accumulated over the last few years and put a cheap (this is the important bit!) fun bike together.

Anyone who turns a streetfighter back into a proper bike gets my vote.

Red line marker paint free off a construction worker
for the wheels and cut up one of your old handbags to cover the seat and you could have the ratbike of your dreams at no extra cost whatsoever
But on a more serious note;keep a tab on costs ,it will be handy for reference.
Good to see your not getting idle down in sunny Wingate anyhow .

Chris set about the 400, dropped the engine out and rebuilt the forks. The 600 is up next and we should be able to drop the engine out and get it in the 400 frame tomorrow, fingers crossed!
In other news, Bill pointed this-

Yeah, it's an absolute pile of cack. We found the front sprocket nut welded on this afternoon. Chris did this-Morespeedvicar wrote:Bargin that kayla, cant believe that anybody thinks the black 'streetfighter' fzr looks good! Why would you do that to a bike. Each to there own i suppose.

and I can't blame him

Still, it's not insurmountable. Silver lining and all that, what.

Them 3he's have a nasty habit of that being done to them !

Fixable though;

Use a thread file and replace the std. nut with;
YA 09891-10124-00.
Thicker,harder and more substantial,from an R1/6, I believe.

Seems quite a common fault judging by the numbers on the forums.
On this particular one,the P.O.had fitted an incorrect sprocket which spat the nut loose prior to the welding fiasco.

Normally when I see that it's not due to the nut coming loose, it's due to the splines on the output shaft being worn to the point that the sprocket HAS to be welded to transfer any power.Evilchicken0 wrote:No excuse for that though, it has a tab washer ffs
