A stainless brush in a die grinder brings up footpegs like new mate. That nose cone looks sweet mate wish mine looked like that, but at least the painter managed to pull his finger out of his arse and repair all the melted bits and get some primer on
Nice work

Nice work

Tonight I sorted the chain. The weld on the chain gaurd's rear bracket had broken, I think the chain probably got thrown and took the bracket. I'm using rivinuts so I drilled the arm coated them in two pack epoxy and put them in.

Rivinut tool, screw the nut onto the black bolt with the big bolt extended, then tighten the big bolt up crushing the nut like a rivet.

Nuts in position, more two pack under the bracket and on the screws so they can't be taken out.

And finish with a new chain :) :)

Can you not have a chain guard if you only having it single seat? Or you going stock and two seats? Looking good, keep going with the pics.....

I'll be keeping the pillion seat for her indoors. I don't think there's a requirement for a chain gaurd but equally it would be a bit stupid to take one off a road bike. It's not just that you could get something in the chian but you'll get lube flung everywhere.

I've mostly been filling and sanding back the tank. It had a couple of rust spots which I could have just laquered over ... but you can't can you.
Yamaha emblems turned up from Thialand ... silvery graphite is the new black. I had them on took off the cover papaer and was just ready to spray and then noticed
problem was the laquer is 2k and once activated doesn't keep, so I went ahead anyway
The top fairing looked great, the tail section reacted so that will need sanding back again.

Cleaned up the footrests up. I tried to strip them down but couldn't so a bit of polishing, careful masking and spray up.

This is how it stands tonight

Re: Can you see what it is yet
It was a silly job over the weekend.
I'd had problems with the ignition switch, the key worked if you put it in and jiggled it, it worked in the fuel cap too but not the pillion seat. So I changed them for a another set, cursing ebay as I went.
Next job was the indicators. I put on 4 aftermarket ones, cheap but effective. They didn't flash so I swapped out the relay and they were ok. Then they weren't. If I took the panel bulb out they worked fine so the resitance was a bit to high.
I used my air mass meter thing and checked the carb balance one was a bit out.
After I'd fitted all the locks I saw the key in the other project's fuel tank ... it fitted the locks I'd taken off, muppet. At least they all work now.
Tonight I called into Halfords and got a cheap relay, it works fine so that's another little thing done. Put a bit of trim on the screen
