there must be a tank specialist in your backward little country  Either get it pressure checked and sealed or copied in alloy with a firbreglass shroud

Hah, it turns out we do have some carbon fiber and aluminum experts hiding out in the wilderness over here.

The tank will be going to a friend that specializes in vintage and custom fiberglass and carbon fiber fabrication. He's done bodywork for at least one sidecar that's run the TT IIRC. He's going to evaluate it and determine if it's repairable or better off used as a form to base a mold off of for a replacement. In the mean time I have another local who's a damn skilled welder offering to make an aluminum tank to hide under my old tank's skin, or a complete aluminum tank.

Neither process is quick however... so if I can find another tank in the mean time...

Found a nice steel tank in Japan.

They claim 'International Postal regulations' prohibit them from shipping it to me. Bah.

Another forum member is helping get me sorted, hopefully some time next week I'll have a lovely care package with an OEM tank inside. In the mean time my carbon tank is undergoing surgery this week, the inside will be completely re-sealed instead of just patching the hole as was done before.

Just got the quote for rebuilding my FCR rack...

If I could still buy a new rack from a US vendor I would. D-oh! Whatever leached out of my tank gummed up the works completely, plus lots of wear. Should run a crap-ton better once rebuilt though.
