Re: My FZR's
I'm taking the RR to the Cadwell trackday so I'm now going to be doing a bit if work on it to get it ready.
First thing I want to do is swap over the standard RR forks to the SP forks I've got, but first I want to service them.
I've never really done much work on forks so anyone got any tips for taking them apart?
They might have Maxton internals, how do I tell?

Re: My FZR's
Start to undo the fork top with the stanchions in the triple clamps - this is because it's difficult to hold them once off the bike.
There's a bolt in the bottom of the stanchoin that holds the slider into the outer, it secures to a nut that's only reachable through the top of the fork. try a bit of steel box section to hold the nut. There are other ways to it.
My project bike's forks have manxton stickers on them.
When's the track day ?

This is the 3tj6, the 7 which you repaired is still work in progess! ;-( carbs leaking and perished fuel hoses!!
The 6 is running on cv's at the minute but I have the flatslides and rubbers for it. :-)
I've bought a set of cv's for the 7 so I can bung them on and get it running then sort the flatslides properly.
I'm sure the bike doesn't like me!
