Re: Ben's bikes
I just measured my mirrors, I presumed the mirror bankers would be the same size.NGneer wrote:LOL - Ben I didn't mean to imply it was being kept a secret...just my curiosity getting the better of me.
I may well be wrong, and sods law don't have mine to hand to measure for you, but just looking at a ruler the 70mm overall length sems too much. Sorry I don't have a better picture of mine but there was a guy waaaaay back knocking these out (these ones are actually engraved with the HRC logo so +5HP) If you look at the pictures the overall length is only just over the head of the bolts so if the pich of the hole centers is 30mm as you say I would guess at the overall length being more like 40-45mm and they are also more like 3.5 -4 mm thick.....
......I know they are not NC30 (may fit though) but a quick Google moment found these, which are very similar and may help show what I mean...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TYGA-MIRROR-B ... 3f009818f1
Hope that helps - but I am sure that someone else out there has a set of mirror blanks to hand and can give em a quick measure for you.
I'm going to go measures my mirrors and upper fairing to see.

Re: Ben's bikes
Just traced round my mirrors and made a paper template

Forgot they're slightly off centred. Going to do a re draw.

Re: Ben's bikes
Ahhh - I see where your dimensions come from now if you are using the profile of the end of the mirror stalk as your template - alles klar now
If the blanks are just to get rid of the mirrors on track days......enjoy

Fair point from jetblack. I know that most of the time the NC30 mirrors just give you a really good view of your own shoulders, but they do also give you that additional bit of overall spacial awarness of what is going on all around you.jetblack wrote:Ben, why do you want to do away with your mrrors on a road bike? Re: Ben's bikes
So update:
I repaired the lugs inside my lower fairing and add c clips, annoyingly the rattle is still there (I think it may not be as bad though but I'm not sure) I'm now thinking it could be something like the engine or suspension? I'm busy for the next month but hopefully July time someone can help me deduce what it is (James? Alex?). Also in the process of getting a new exhaust system. Decided against mirror blankers (maybe mirror spacers instead - still plenty of thread left on the mirror as James pointed out sunday).
Phoned Gavin this morning and left him a message - 2 weeks after our original phone call i still haven't heard anything so wondering if he has the screens in stock yet.

If you ride it up to me I'll happily diagnose the problem.
