Aftermarket Wheels - Dymag or others. GROUP PURCHASE
Seriously folks. I want Dymags. We already have two bikes in our shop with Dymags and I am building at least one more. So, I think I can round up 1, 2 or maybe even 3 people that want a 5.25" rear dymag. The 5.5" might be a tight squeeze though. If there are 3 to 5 people on here that are interested, I would be willing to "take the point" on this and negotiate with Dymag.

Re: Aftermarket Wheels - Dymag or others. GROUP PURCHASE
Hello Mike.
I am happy to act as the UK liason for a group purchase, and i would offer my services to collect / arrange payments etc.
Also i would be interested in at least one set of wheels depending on price. However i would only consider a 5 spoke, i really cannot warm to the 3 spoke wheels.
So lets keep this thread clear of the usual "can i have mine in green" type questions. If anyone is seriously interested in some Gold Dymags in the standard 3.5" front and 5.25" rear then add your name to the list
Mike - 2 pairs
CRM - at least 1 pair

I am in for a set... But I need a front to fit 01-03 GSXR1000.
Might do two sets (other for standard VFR but 17" wheel) depending on price.

I'm almost positive you can still buy the NC30/35 front wheels from Dymag with no issues. It's the 5.25 rear that's the problem since they don't have the castings anymore. That's what Dymag told me last year.
I would go in on some but I already got a 5 spoke mag set for my NC
Another thought, I know it's pricy but maybe BST will do some cf ones if Dymag won't. I think they said they do custom wheels on their web site.

Re: Aftermarket Wheels - Dymag or others. GROUP PURCHASE
I think it's critical for people to understand the purpose of this thread. We are trying to get Dymag to make wheels for us that they normally do not make. All the wheels need to be the same shape and size (all 5-spoke, 5.xx" rear wheels for an RVF/VFR400). Anything else is a topic for another discussion. Then, if Dymag will even be interested, they may also say that we "can have it in any color we want, as long as it's black" (old Ford Quote). So, they may do the batch in different colors, but it's more likely they will do everything in one batch of shape, size and color.
Color is not important to me. I have a paint gun :-) Spoke count is also not critical to me, but I would probably lean towards 5-Spoke since that is what everyone else seems to like (I prefer the Old-School 3-Spoke, but that's me).
So, GSX-R wheels, Front Wheels, etc need not apply here.

Please pop my name down, of course, depending on the price.
Apologies, to confirm these would be 3.5" 17inch x 5.25" 17inch rear.

Thread cleaned up.
Mike have you heard anything back as yet ? i have heard nothing.
I also asked Chris at Dynopro today if he was aware of anyone looking for a set of wheels, and if he knew of anyone to point them over in this direction.
So lets assume so far we are into 7 sets (well 7 rears made, because they already have fronts which are the same as the CBR etc)

If they will make them, I have 2 for certain, 3 is highly likely. Once we get word back weather they will even make them for us, I will spread the word and see if I can increase that number by at least 1 more.CRM wrote:Thread cleaned up.

PS: For what it's worth, I am sitting at SFO now waiting to fly over to your side of the pond. I will be in London Friiday~Sunday, then off to Swansea Wales to visit the Team V-4 Students Sunday~Wednesday, then Northampton to visit Cosworth Thursday, and finally to Norwich to visit Rick Oliver before heading back to London Friday the 22nd. Should be a great trip. Not sure what the timing will be like but depending on where you are, maybe have time to sneak in a quick visit. Maybe.
