Re: 750 MOD
You are asking a question as if you know it can be done but you know fuck all about the bikes you are wanting to try and merge.
If you had the skills to understand and diagnose your bad running issues then there would be obviously a reason I could imagine that you could learn and understand about what you are trying to do.
As it happened you did not show any kind of comprehension of the issues and came back with inane questions that were only slightly relevant but not in the context of the advice you were given. A lot of advice by me and a lto of advice by other guys who have more experience than I do.
So, I'll fill in the blanks for you.
If you are asking about whetehr you change the gearbox then you know fuck all about motorbikes.
If you wonder whether an exhaust designed for a small engine will fit a large one? Of course it won't fit? If one engine has twice to capacity of the other then there are likely to be external differences in size, cylinder spacing and so on.
The 180 degree* V4s have a left to right exhaust pairing as opposed to the 360 degree V4s which are front to back and so even if you made something fit, which it won't without modifications then ideally you need to have the right type of system.
To be a patronising twat I'll also gripe that someone who cannot be arsed to type in anything like a correct manner and use the basics you learn as a 6 year od - Capital letter and a Full Stop.. That doesn't lead me to take a wild stab in the dark you are an automotive savant.
I am a patient, helpful and generally chilled out guy but fuck me...arguing on the internet is daft.
I'm done..get this built mate...show me the skills. I'll bet you a stinky bit of billtong that you do nothing to get anywhere even close to this project.

Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

Re: 750 MOD
Would imagine it would be cheaper to just buy a 750 and leave the 400 alone.
That said, would be interesting to see it done. Do it.

Re: 750 MOD
dont want or like the 750, main reason I wanna do it is cause my motor has seen better days and if im gonna out a new one why not a 750. either that or sell the vfr and get a cbr600, but i love everythin bout the 400, i know im not very clued up with the operation if a motor but i wont be doin it alone anyhow, blah blah blah

Re: 750 MOD
cheaper, quicker and a load less hassle to just get another 400 engine and forget the 750.
If you like everything about the 400, don't you think you might not like it as much when its got a huge engine hanging out the side of the chopped frame with an exhaust that blows, brakes that dont stop you and ...........well you get the picture.
