Throttle Cable

Hi, My throttle used to spring back from fully open to closed, now it slowly returns back. I heard this a sign to replace the cable or oil it. To oil the cable do i need to take the whole cable out or can i do it while it is still in the bike?

If I recall, the cables are coated in a silica or something like that and oiling them will actually make them worse. I could be wrong though.
This might be an obvious thing, but check that the grip isn't rubbing anywhere; if that's ok, pull the cables off and make sure they move freely inside the sleeves.

I usually use engine oil to lbe the cables once in a while. Take the top of the casing the houses the end of the throttle grip off, put some oil in the cap of the bottle it came out of, and carefully get a drop of it on the edge of lid so you can apply it to the cable. You'll need to twist the grip repeatedly to work oil down the cable. If you pour a load into the housing, it'll pee out all over the place and down the bike for ages.

Not heard of the cables being coated, but then there's lots of stuff I've not heard of... lol

Another very common problem on many bikes is the bar end weight rubbing against twist grip and fouling it.
