Right, so the white plug in question is definitely the plug that goes to the tach? I hazard a guess it's the one with the wires that operate the tach, tach lights, temp gauge and temp gauge light. I presume this dash you have has the capacity to display the temp and you aren't just going to hope the bike doesn't get hot without you knowing about it?

The bike should still start, I'd be looking elsewhere as to why it doesn't.

I don't mean to be harsh each time but you need to help yourself >.< If someone says "What colour are the wires" or something like that, go and look. A stranger, likely with more knowledge than you, is offering, for free, to give you advice! But you can't be bothered to go check some wire colours, 2 minute job.

Just a idea the plug goes to the tacko? Where does the tacko get it signal from? A lot of bikes take a pulse signal from the coil trigger pulse maybe it goes......pickup-tacko-coil? And quite simply coils not get the pulse signal? Not looked at wiring diagram. Some bikes do take pulse for tacko from ecu too? JUST A THOUGHT

You didn't think of charging the battery you suspect to be dodgy and trying that before you posted another thread on here?

This is a helpful forum, but you are supposed to do some of the thinking and legwork yourself, it isn't a mommy service.

Good people are talking time out of their lives to repeatadly try to help you in the right direction, if you can't even be bothered to do the simple stuff yourself before asking for a magic answer then people will probably stop helping you.

Another daft question, have you unplugged the kill switch (right hand switch gear) from the loom? I dont know if it'll run without that plugged in, i cant remember how its wired off the top of me head!
But deffo put everything back to standard, get it well charged (the cold doesnt help batteries at all), make sure theres no loose plugs or anything daft.
You may have to take out the plugs and dry them out on a cooker if you've been cranking it over and it not starting.

Neo, i have no other battery. and they do take a good 12 hour over night charge... i thought, why wait, when i can do both at the same time? no harm in that. i wanted to ask in case i missed something obvious. im only using my initiative.

well, all i can say is... when i was cranking, i had the two rear HT leads agaisnt the frame, and i was trying to see if itl spark at all... and about 10 seconds before the battery started to die, i noticed ONE spark in each HT lead at the same time.... it was just only one though. it was quite weird. but yeah... thats all i can say so far.

okay, charged the battery, checked for spark and the bike started with one click with 2 cylinders! connected the two other HT leads and it fired up on all 4. so its definatley the battery now. anyway.....now the RPM meter on the new clock wont work.... ive connected the RPM signal, the blue/white on the clock to the yellow/green on the loom. is there anything that could be blocking that signal out?
