You're not the only one.

Not sure if they have been relined though. Wouldn't know how to tell either if I'm honest.

This baffles me. Why go to the trouble of fitting new pistons etc. for an extra 40cc, when you could spend similar money on a 600 engine swap? I wonder what you can bore those out to.

Talking about the NC23, for me I decided to go for the 480cc conversion as I managed to source one at a very reasonable price. The cost of doing the 480 are roughly the same for a 440 excluding the cost of the piston/ cylinder which can fluctuate, that is a set of gaskets if you can do the work yourself (I can).

Compare that with a 60cc conversion. Basically its reframing a 600. You need the engine, carbs, loom, cdi, exhaust, and one or two other bits from what I remember when I looked at it. Or consider it another way take a 600 and replace the frame with a 400. But its not that simple the frame needs modification. The front spars need to be cut and rewelded (Some thing I can't do).

So based on that I think it would be easier and probably more cost effective to just up the cc by a bit rather then attempt a 600 conversion. But yes you can big bore a 600, you could even fit a different engine say a fireblade engine to a 400 (this has been done for a 29 from what I remember). The possibilities are endless, each to their own, it all depends on how deep your pockets are etc...

I think the 442 big bore gives the NC a whole load more grunt - or so I'm lead to believe, - true its not a 600cc, but allows the bike to put out as much power as some of the older 600ccs (SRAD?) with extra tuning and dyno time.
If you are building a trick bike and have the cash - why not?!
The NC's are known for their handling - with more power - which most people try to get - why not have an awesome track weapon?!
I'd do it if I could afford or justify to my wife!

Has anyone used this on a Nc30 for the road and what real improvments does this kit give you?
