which model?

Post by leopard_pagan »

A mate just bought this, it needs a couple of minor bits to pass a MOT but cant get them till we know which model it is. Will also be looking for manuals etc

Frame num: GK73A10237- left the last digit off.
Reg starts with E but declared manufacture date is 1988... according to V5

I am leaning towards GK73 from the frame num?

Yeah, it's an GK73a:-

They were produced in 88/89 then replaced by the GK76a in 1990.

Yes, GK73a,

1987 GK71......

1988 GK73a GSX-R400 (J) (Your Model)

1988 GK73a GSX-R400 SP (FJ) (Your Model + Single Seat Cover, Remote Rear Shock Reservoir, Close Ratio Gearbox, no rear Footrests, Revised Forks, and only in Blue + White)

1989 GK73a GSX-R400R (RK) (Your Model + Revised Braced Swingarm, Revised Paint Schemes)
