i wouldn't risk running one disc, maybe on a 125 where its supposed to have one. If it was supposed to run with one surely honda would have left one off??
Buy a set of 2nd hand ones or save up for some pattern ones.If you can't afford to run safely you shouldn't be riding sorry

Honda CBR250s (amongst other Honda models) had two different braking configs: The single disc MC19 and the twin disc MC22. Sure, they're designed to run their seperate configs, but they each brake alright with the same (similar) gear.

As it's only a stop gap measure, It will be fine. Just as space saving tyres are fine - as a stop gap measure ;)

Here's an idea, what about not fitting any brakes and just using your feet to stop you, it worked fine for the Ant Hill Mob,

Actually the MC14 and MC17 had twin discs then it moved to a single only for the the MC19 before it went back to twin for the MC22.

Personally I wouldn't do it but at the same time I wouldn't worry about it if I had to in an emergency.

I realise that there are other CBR250 models. I'm not familiar with them though as they're not imported into AUS because they're not "cool enough" for learners.

Interestingly, the RVF400 is the "coolest" learner ride down under at the moment. NC30s aint legal because of the power to weight rule - crazy huh!

Hiya,
it should be fine as long as you dont do any track riding. loads a bikes only use one disc, an as its only a temp measure it should be ok. Just remember your stopping distance maybe a bit longer, or just squeze twice as hard as usuall!!!!!

Cheers

Ian
