NC30 triple clamps
Hi there, just wondering what the difference is between NC24 and NC30 triple clamps?
the spec sheet shows both bikes at 41mm forks, but do they have the same spacing and offset etc.
We have a wee problem with alignment at the moment, and maybe one of our clamps is from the wrong model.
Cheers
Ken

I am not sure that NC24 forks are 41mm? I reckon they are ore like 38mm> They are spindly buggers anyways.
What is the problem you are finding?

My bet would be that the lower yoke is twisted where it holds the fork, seen it a few times.zeke wrote: We have a wee problem with alignment at the moment, and maybe one of our clamps is from the wrong model.

Re: NC30 triple clamps
Thanks, I thought the NC24 were smaller but the spec sheet I found had them at 41mm.
I binned the bike and damaged both triples, but had some spares that came in a box of bits.
Forks have been straightened, but they appear to be splayed too wide at the axle by about 5mm, and discs bind.
I will have to strip and measure the centers. Weird thing was we ran it before the forks were fixed, and everything bolted up fine, my mate even posted his best lap time!
Thanks for the advice, if anyone knows if any other Hondas of this era had the same triples, that would be great.
Cheers

You can get the NC24 specs from there. I know they are correct as I typed that from the original Honda manual.
Stock forks are indeed 37mm.
Whats the budget of this? Since I should imagine NC24 forks are not readily avaibale where you are, and since the forks are crashed and stock NC24 forks are utter shite for the track, why not look at a 41mm conversion?

CBR400 clamps are 41mm and shouldnt be far off the NC24 which would be a good place to start.
As for the NC24 yolks they were made for the NC24 and not took off anything else so anything else is going to be a bit of a bodge job.

Re: NC30 triple clamps
Thanks Neo, the faulty info is at Bikez.com in the spec sheet. But no problem, I suspected they were smaller diameter and just needed to check as there is complete set available with forks over here: wont be going down that path. The problem all started with a drop, where the top triple thread let go, releasing the forks to bend the bottom triple. (Previous owner had used short bolts for the top pinch, only holding by 10mm)
We have a spare set of both but things are not quite sitting true. Availabilty of NC30 stuff over here is limited,
and the top triple clamp that broke appears non standard as well; it is Honda labeled, but polished flat alloy, not the dimpled painted standard. Oh well, time to get the credit card out, Again!
Cheers

Your confusing NC30 and NC24 stuff again, they are completely different.zeke wrote:Thanks Neo, the faulty info is at Bikez.com in the spec sheet. The stock NC24 yolk is flat polished alloy.

Theres also a ton of them in the UK for around 15 dollars if you want to replace like for like.

Re: NC30 triple clamps
Thanks again Neo, the top triple is very similair to what you show on ebay, but Definitely 41mm, and the pinch bolts come in from opposite side at 45deg. It has a Honda symbol front and center, and may even have had standard bar risers. Have no idea what it has come from, but we dont intend to reuse this part, Just interested in what it may have been off, as it worked fine. Pulled everything apart last night, and the bottom unit is the problem. Somehow it is about 1.5mm wider at the inner face of the fork clamp, by the time this gets to the axle we have about 5.0mm. We will have to replace the bottom triple.
