Won't work, everything will expand.

Ideally you'd need to locally freeze the guide.
Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

I would of given it a go to see if i could have moved it without worrying about damaging the head but ive given it to DM and hes putting it to good use, unfortunaly it wont be fixed though.
