NC29 Gravel Rash Frame
Hey guys and gals, my CBR400 has some gravel rash on the alloy frame. It's pretty deep and I'm wondering if anyone knows any tricks for getting it out??....heavy duty buffing of some sort??....
I'm gonna powder-coat it black anyway but I'd rather it looked mint before painting it.

If they're really deep you may have to use weld to fill them before powder coating!

Re: NC29 Gravel Rash Frame
if they are that deep the frame should have been written off.
the easiest way for you would be...as you are going to be stripping it right down anyway would be to get another frame without the damage, you could get a frame with V5 for about £40 I reckon if you shopped about.

Re: NC29 Gravel Rash Frame
Yeah the scratches are superficial and the frame has been checked for cracks and is fine as well....I'm just being really picky.
Parts are hard to come by in New Zealand for these bikes as 400cc bikes didn't really become mainstream at all in the NZ market.
I'm just going to smooth it out as best I can and keep an eye out for another frame in the future. Wanted to powder coat it black anyway, so will leave it as is and powder-coat the next frame.
Thanks for the advice everyone.
