reason i listed that lot was *IF* your a BHP junkie, that 1/2 BHP all adds up!
personally my chain is lubed when it rattles, my throttle has a wee bit of lag* and i cleaned my filter last summer!

*lag is when you open the throttle........ then the bike reacts. a well set up bike will be instant.
rear wheel alignment is important, if the chain isnt running true, it will create friction as it comes off/in the sprockets and loose you that all important .3 of a bhp!

oh.. BTW did you know you gain 2BHP per HRC sticker you put on your bike?

That doesn't lower your power output though, and won't show up on a dyno. Just as a quick turn throttle doesn't give you more horsepower, it just allows you to access it more quickly.

The best performance gain you can get is cutting back on the pies IMO - actually saves you money

Cheapest way to hit redline in 6th? Change the sprocket ratio! ;)

Or go and play in Germany

oh.. Altitude also has an affect on BHP.... true readings from sea level . cant remember if they go up or down if your higher/lower on where its dynoed.

There's less oxygen the higher up you are, so your mixture goes rich.

If you want to 140mph, your gonna need to have about 70bhp, a 37 rear sprocket.. and a long straight.. :) Col

ha ha... I dont think so.... at the Manx this year all the top speeds down the Sulby Straight were set by Hondas, RVFs, then CBRs. My NC29 clocked 135.8mph and the fastest RVF I think was 138ish mph. The ZXRs might be the best on closed circuit racing but Honda rules the roads... :P

interesting.. zxr's are quicker stock, and make more power tuned .. maybe its a "peakiness" thing means the honda's can pull higher gearing

got a link to the top speeds/laptimes ?
