GK76A CDI Number

Post by super-thilde »

Hi

I need a new CDI for my gk76a. My question is; Does every cdi have at different number or does all gk76a have the same? Mine has BB7241, and I found a one with BB7214. Can I move the BB 7214 to my bike and it would work?

For the standard GK76 (non-SP) two plug CDI, the parts manual is showing 4 different CDI's.

32900-33C10 1990 L model
" -33C70 91/92 M/N model
" -35D30 93 P model
" -35D31 94 S model

Those are part numbers not the BB numbers you are describing. But the part numbers are also on the CDI just above the BB number so you can cross check. Remember 93 on were restricted models.

Hope that helps a bit.

Okay. Thx. I have a bit of a problem, my number is worn off, so cant read it. The only thing I have is the BB number. I need the one whit one plug and 12 pins - the SP model.

Are you sure the old one is bad?
I posted resistance values for checking the SP unit.
They are rare and go for good money so check the old unit first.

Thx. I thought of buying one from China, found one one ebay. But its so expensive. Im from Denmark, and we have the weirdest taxes, so it costs twice.

i was thinking of buying it as i thought my CDI was dead also, but turned out i had mixed up a wire behind the clocks.

What makes you think it is the CDI?

P.S. the site may say its not secure but its safe its like amazon

My bike can't start. My mechanic measured everything and there is nothing. Everything else is fine. Its only the box which is dead. It the same thing, usa is outside of eu, so it cost son much more in taxes. But still cheaper. Maybe i will buy that instead.
