Side Stand Extending?

Post by quality »

Hi all,

I've just fitted one of Ricks jack up kits to my NC30 whilst fitting my full Tyga system. Once done though I have a small issue in that the side stand is now effectively very short so the bike leans heavily on the stand. Has anyone found a solution to this either by extending the stand (and if so, how) or by fitting a different side stand?

I could always carry a chock in my pocket but would like a proper solution.

Cheers guys,

Paul.

The NC29 stand is a direct bolt on to the NC30 and is a bit longer.

I used a CBR900 stand on my CB-1. IDK how long the '30 stand is but maybe this helps. It's about 20mm longer than the CB-1 stand.

I used an nc29 stand on my 30 that's had the rear raised.

i need to get a bigger stand too, mine leans over like a HARLEY!

i had contemplated on buying a BIG snapon spanner and bending it so the open end was the foot and the ring was the head that mounted onto the stand bracket, i thought it was a bit orange county chopper however i thought it would have a bit of coolness to say, "i made that"

Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

Got myself an NC29 stand ordered so will let you all know how much longer it is when it comes. Cheers, Paul.

I ground a small bit off the heel of my nc29 stand, it sat too upright when standard. You might need to do this (few minutes and a bench grinder or longer and a file), depends on how much the rear's raised and how it sits.

I'm much happier with it than the severe lean that it had with the stock stand fitted.
