brake bleeding syringe method stil spongy advise pls

dunno if its been mentioned but make sure the copper washers are good between all joints and that all connections are torqued up correctly.

I tried to bleed my brakes after refubing my calipers and only after about an hour of head scratching did i realise i'd not nipped the bolts up enough and air was getting in.

I've always used the pipe and one way valve method...never had any problems

Basically followed Dave's (arsey30's) advice, cracked the top bolt at the m/c, and ensured no air was trapped there and then bled the calipers again by the traditional method, tied the lever back to the bar with 2 cable ties overnight and this morning it was as good as it gets.

did you try lifting the caliper above the res.... then bleed. worked for me when i got a spongy lever once. air goes to the highest spot

Vacuume bleeder, never a problem.

I use a length of fish tank air line. Soften it up with a lighter, and force the end over the bleed nipple. Run the line back to the reservoir and you can cycle the fluid round and round until all the air has come out, and you don't waste as much as bleeding into a jar. Not that you want to keep fluid after you've opened the container anyway. If you are really brave, you can do both at once. Just remember that of course you need to keep the system topped up otherwise you'll suck more air in. Works every time for me. He says, waiting for it to go wrong next time! Also, having loads of slear hose means that you can get a good idea of what condition the fluid is in, so to begin with you could always ditch the old stuff (not a bad idea). New fluid will probably perform a bit better if you believe what the manufacturer will tell you....
