Omg it never ends with this bike lol.

Out of nowhere bout 2 wks ago, coolant literally spat itself out of the overflow bottle tubing into the environment. I'm like that ain't good and whole I had the fairings off had a look at coolant level after being replaced 4 wks ago the top radiator is down to like 3mm left. Topped up with water in the meantime.

Bigger issue at hand now is that I feel that coolant is being eaten from somewhere. Hopefully not gasket. It all bloody happened after this bloody service man. He said that the only way for the coolant to spit out like that with the excess bottle only 1/4 filled would be the fact that air has built up(can't remember the name where) and has kind of pushed it out because o the pressure.

Any ideas guys???

Start at the start...

how much is in the rads right now?
how much in the overflow bottle?
does the rad cap fit OK?
what temp is on the gauge when it starts to overflow?
how clean are your rads?

They are easy to sort and simple beasts.

In the rads now- I filled the top one with water( tbh there were like black dots in the water when rose)

Overflow bottle holds 250ml and is only bout 1/4 full when it overflowed.

Rad cap fit ok. No leaks

It's only ever overflowed once and the temp was halfway and the fan does kick in.

Rads are probably originals that look pretty crap to me but mechanic said they're fine

Ok after I topped up with water 2 days ago and riding her for the first time doing 30 km's and giving her a good hit.

Open rad and the water had obviously mixed with coolant coz it was now green the liquid from the original water I put( not sure if this is good or bad). The levels have only dropped just under the first hose( not sure where it goes sorry). Is this normal or won't really find out until it gets a good run in her.

P.s. In te midst of riding her the temp gauge did hit halfway after about 10mins

how much in your overflow bottle now?

it will be something simple.... check the hoses for cracking and age related issues - check the hose clamps - be sure the overflow tube is not kinked and that the end of it is in the fluid in the overflow bottle

Are you topping up the radiator while the bike's running? It helps minimise air locks.

When the temp guage needle hits the red is when you should be worried, nowhere else is a concern.
