porndoguk the HRC manual states that it has its front needles unshimmed and the rear needles shimmed, you might find simply un-shimming the needles on the front two carbs might be all thats required to balance your rich spot. HRC manual suggests that not only are front main jets smaller that the needles too are unshimmed initially. Food for thought, but like with all things carb i figure small steps. i got a track day coming up i'm looking forward to so I can have another crack at getting my midrange right. I'm so close.

Doodleface, its worth noting your using different carbs here, PD is using 30 carbs. There both similar but i wouldnt apply settings from one to another. Its worth a try tho PD your bike is a bit strange when it comes to jetting :)

FYI I just went back to the HRC springs which seems to have really improved my midrange.
Wont know really till the next race mid august though.
Happy days.

Re: NC30/35 Power Loss with Ignitech Ignition - The Solution
Only a bit of a teaser at the moment but...
I have just fitted my NC30 with an Ignitech CDI (capacitor discharge) ignition system in place of the original Ignitech which, like the OE Honda ignition, is a TCI (transistor controlled) system.
TCI retains a lot of the drawbacks of old style points ignition and is getting close to its operating limits at the top end of the NC rev range, CDI gives more powerful sparks and will work better at high rpm.
I have modified an RC30 Ignitech DC-CDI-P2 system to fit my big bore NC30 - I only fitted it yesterday so all I know so far is that it runs OK in the workshop.
By happy coincidence, Ignitech are currently working on a new CDI system (DC-CDI-P4) which will can be configured to work as a `plug and play` CDI conversion for NC30/35s using the original coils and pickups.
I don`t have a release date for DC-CDI-P4 yet but watch this space...

Bringing this thread back to life -
Ignitech have just let me know that the DC-CDI-P4 unit, that`s the `plug and play` CDI ignition module to replace the original TCI on NC30/35s, is now available - contact me if you`re interested on ricknc30@gmail.com - it will be on my list as soon as I`ve worked out a price and written the advance maps.
