Ticking sound from the engine ?
I have started to notice a ticking sound from the engine (NC29) lately , could this be that the valve clearances are out and need doing or something else ? theres always plenty of oil in the bike it never really uses much ?
PS the ticking noise increases when I rev the engine :D

pin hole in the exhaust headers or cam chain tensioner.

or just the fuel pump doing its job.. it ticks as it has contact points inside.

+1 on the pinhole in the exhaust. Or a loose plug.
I doubt its going to be a cam chain tensioner. unless youve done some serious mods, it should be gear driven cams!

Too many bikes, so little time!

.
a friend of mine who owns a NC29 too, got a strange ticking sound in his bike. later he got more overheting problems, and lastly one of the valves got loose and damages its piston...
