You really do live in a strange little world.
Do you actually read what people are saying?
They're not saying its hard, they're saying that getting consistent accuracy is more difficult.
And before you argue, I'm a qualified toolmaker so I know what I'm talking about.
You obviously didn't pay much attention in English class cos u have no concept of fucking sarcasm either

practical? science never right, mate if theyve mothballed shit at school recently i had some amazing practicals in science mainly fucking around with bunsen burners, and dangerous make your willy rot off chemicals.

school isnt the real world its all tasters 5 years experiance you say, id estimate that to be varried tasks, over a 290day school year, 58 weeks and i guess a 2hour lesson at most, so even if you were to spend every lesson of every year lathe working on metal alone id say you have at most 116hours experiance, (a weeks worth)

lol im just sayin, machine a tiny piece of cog, with a rectangular slit in the back of it isnt hard ^^. il make some and sell them, if anyone is interested. i dont even know why no one has thought about this.

Just a thought - maybe they are plastic so that they DO break - rather than something more expensive and complex breaking? - generally Mr Honda knows what he does IMO.

Dunno if they are different but I've never had a problem with my NC35

The way you describe the part - you aint gonna make that on a lathe - milling machine maybe unless ya got some expensive attachments on ya lathe - whichever it would need to be done on very accurate machinery by a very skilled operator (my dad makes award winning model steam locomotives (sort ya see in parks) real steamers with VERY fine tolerances on machined parts - most of which are machined from stock &/or castings - so I know it;s not an easy job)

If ya think ya can tho, go for it, send one to one of the gurus on here for assessment - you might just surprise us
