Digital dash for NC30
Just rediscovered my NC30 in a garage cleanout. It's a ratty one I bought to do as project and has had some damage around the top cowl & clocks (and pretty much everything else) meaning I'm considering a digital dash as a cheaper and lighter option that restoring to original condition.
I had a Veypor on a Fazer 600 once, it worked well, but I've seen another from Acewell that might be more reasonable for normal road use.
Does anyone have any experience with using any kinds of digital dash or speedo with their VFR400? Recommendations are welcome, though it's a budget build so nothing too OTT.

Re: Digital dash for NC30
I don't have experience fitting digital gauges myself but I'm interested, mostly so I can fit lower clip-ons to my street NC35 (I'm 6'3"). I've seen digital gauges on track bikes, I'm sure it's pretty straightforward. My only suggestion is don't hack up the harness aft of the nylon 9 pin connectors if you know what I mean. That way you can easily take it back to standard when you stumble over a cherry set of OEM gauges.
Those Acewell clocks look nice, here's another suggestion if you're on a budget:

Re: Digital dash for NC30
I recently bought a Koso digital dash off another member to use with my project.
Haven't wired it in yet but i think it will look well.
Only criticism (so far) is the sensors, I intend to buy the extra parts off Koso to interface with existing speedo drive instead of mounting magnetic sensor at the wheel - so be aware that you may incurr extra cost if you're fussy like me

I've had both acewell and koso digital dashes on nc's. Both are very good but I prefered the koso and there analogue to digital Speedo drive works perfectly and also looks stock.

Its tucked up safe at my place, though still undecided if i'll use it or not.
Depends if i keep project #2. The UK clocks i have might go onto the bike instead so I'll keep you informed.
Or I'll swop you for that nice full set of plastics you were teasing me with

Re: Digital dash for NC30
Thanks for all the advice guys. The Koso range looks pretty nice, especially if they have a converter to avoid sticking a magnet on my wheel - I want some fancy rims one day and it'd be a shame to have to mess with them or have to change speedo twice.
I'll post pics of my build once I get started, but the garage refit is taking a long time so don't hold your breaths.

Hopefully the warmth of my credit card will spur me on.
@vic-vtrvfr: did you order the drive converter? I couldn't work out which one the VFR needs

Re: Digital dash for NC30
Jon at the digital speedo place emailed to check what size temperature pickup I needed and when I called and sounded a bit clueless he threw in the mechanical drive at no charge.
Apparently there're only two fitting types, Yamaha (or Kwak?) and everyone else.

Re: Digital dash for NC30
sorry for delay in replying, only spotted your question now.
I havent ordered the converter yet, its still on the list! Thought I'd wait & see if i needed any other different sensors first apart than the ones i received with the dash.
