RVF400 road trip

Hi Guys,

My friend recently rode from Sydney to Brisbane (12 hours according to google maps, so about a couple days trip) on a CBR250RR. Him and his friends now want to do the trip again, I have a RVF400, do any of you guys have experience with long distance trips on a RVF? What are your thoughts?

Take a rest every 100km.
Seat isn't the most comfortable, and im in my young 20s.

Ride til you hit reserve, then fill up, have a drink and a stretch and then get on it.

I've done 300 miles in a day on my NC30 - it was alright. Was a bit achy after it...but no worries.

Make sure the bike is sorted, check the electrics and so on..it will be fine.

yep i did spain / europe on my RVF in 2011
cant carry alot on it, quick enough, comfy enough, and is great fun in the sea of blackbirds, BMW's and other big heavy cumbersome bikes.
however if its all motorways or straight roads, think of something else.

i've done 4 day bike/camping trips over the last handfull of years with friends covering between 200/300 miles a day and the bike held up fantastically. just make sure she is well serviced, everything is tightened up and you have some tools under your seat incase of any troubles

Get your bike ready, all serviced and all fluids and parts checked / tightended. Done on my street RVF several trips. Major trip was.to.Austria.and Italy...covering +1000km on first day. Take every 160 to 200kms a pitstop. Get good food and water, relax tour body and.go.on to.next stop. Take all necessary first quick items in a tankbag easy Access. If high humidity, take precautions and maybe use a drink bag like long distance sporters.do. I had one and very comfy whilst waiting in hot sin.

Bugger that, too much straight road to be comfortable.

I used to stop every hour on my nc30, but that was with raised rearsets which make it a bit more uncomfortable on straight stretches. These bikes are much more comfortable when the roads get twisty and you start moving around on the bike.

A 250rr has a more comfortable seating position than an rvf or vfr.

Definitely carry a spare reg/rec and a spare connector for it.
