RVF swingarm fitted to VFR ??

Post by vic-vtrvfr »

Hi folks.
Recently discovered that previous owner has fitted an RVF swingarm assembly to my VFR frame (well spotted Rhory, thanks again!).
Dont know why this has been done. I understand that the NC35 arm is narrower at the frame end.
Prior to stripping the arm out, I cant see any shims etc to compensate for the difference.
Is there any benefit to this change, or am I better to switch back to a standard VFR unit?

I've included a pic for reference.

Cheers
Vic.

Hmm

If it's not shimmed out somehow I imagine the shock mounts are the only thing keeping the swingarm level, which would add a lot of flex to the bike under stress.

I've seen bodges before so maybe it's a bodge job?

Can't see of any benefit if it is actually an RVF swinging arm apart from the bike's probably been in a rear end crash or had some other damage to the swinger to warrant replacement.
