fuel pump nc30

this is purely just a question as i read it somewhere and thought i have a pump and an nc30 but would my bike (120 jets,standard filter,twin can system,FI needles,drilled slides) benefit from having a fuel pump put on it ?

and if so how could it be plumbed in to work and what sort of advantages would i gain.

i know nc23/29s have them so why doesn't the nc30/35's ?
would the bike gain a better pick up from idle or rev faster when the throttle is cracked up at a steady speed ?

again i'm just guessing..

You will only need a fuel pump if running ram air, as air pressure is to high in airbox and fuel does not get into carbs fast enough. If not ram aired you will not need it.

no aly this bike is a road bike but i thought since the 23/29's have the pumps maybe the V4's could benefit from it

i suppose the pump will just have to sit for a while longer then

I thought it was due to the design of tank on the inlines there wasn't enough head to keep the carbs filled at low fuel levels. The same reason the VFR750 has a fuel pump.

My track bike which runs full hrc spec carbs (and no filter/airbox etc) doesn't like to run lower than half a tank of fuel.

I'm sure it would benefit from a pump but it's not a priority for me at the moment (easier just to keep the tank topped up!).

You know my track bike ran a fuel pump for the ram-air, and I'd plumb it in the same way I had done it (as per Chris' instruction) Live feed to the coils so it only runs when the bike is on, earth to the starter solenoid and about 1/2 a metre of fuel hose to get it from the tap, to pump, to carbs.

Might be easier to try an 99-02 SV650 fuel pump, small and simple and requires no electrics, it runs off the inlet vacuum.

Dunno if the NC would give enough vacuum with 100cc in comparison to 325cc but I would have thought so.

Here we go, see the little cast alloy 'box' attached to the RHS frame tube (bottom left of the pic) by a black metal plate (with a wiring boot covering the one corner) and with a tube sticking out?

That's the fuel pump.

i was asking if the carbs needed to be plumbed in such a way for it to work or could i just wire it into the loom as you say and connect the hoss to the right bits,no need now as it would only bebnfit a ram aired bike or the HRC bike if i have the same fuel issue as cameron

Are you sure it actually is a pump and not 'just' a vacuum controlled fuel valve?

Yes I'm sure it's a pump, there is also a vacuum controlled fuel valve on the tank, you can make out the two pipes going into it in this pic.
